Comments about places in Rotherhithe Community Council area…
1. Shockingly dangerous junction of Raymouth Rd and Rotherhithe New Rd – wide junction, poor visibility, fast roads and many cars and lorries in a hurry.
2. The shops on each side of the Lower Road are severed from each other by three lanes of often fast moving traffic.
- Cars speed south down Raymouth Rd
- Brick wall hides the approach from the east
- Vehicles turning across the hidden crossing
- Lower Road – Crossing 3 lanes to the shops on the other side.

How about getting proper enforcement of the parking restrictions around Rotherhithe Old Road near Surrey Quays Station? Currently the car sales place routinely parks cars there contrary to the displayed rules, making all traffic funnel into one lane unless they go in the bus lane.
Also, why are they taking SO LONG doing that bridge on Rotherhithe New Road?
It’s becuase of delays like these that people speed along Raymouth Road because the road is actually clear for once and traffic moves!

I am a Rotherhithe resident from the Adams Gardens Estate and I regularly walk my dog in Kings Stairs park by the riverside. I was upset to discover the closure of the river walkway at Kings Stairs for a period of 14 weeks to build a 5 story house adjacent to no. 12 Kings Stairs Close. Although I understand this is a temporary closure, the developer wanted to close it for 44 weeks since it is situated in a very awkward position and they retain the right to subsequent closure as and when they think necessary. At the moment there is inadequate signage for alternative routing for both pedestrians and cyclists and they have completely demolished the cycle ramp which was fought for by the Southwark Cyclist Campaign in June last year. The planning permission for this additional house was granted five years ago, therefore Southwark Council must have known that the cycle ramp would have to be removed when the proposed development got underway but presumably preferred to bury its head in the sand and not make this information available to concerned parties. I would like to know if there are others who would like to register their protest against this development and the impact it is having on the such a sensitive area concerning riverside accessibility and the impact it is having on the local parkland.

The King stairs development will probably stay closed forever. What a liberty!
