The spreadsheet below summarises parts of the DfT annual monitoring of vehicle flows in Southwark on the borough’s A roads. Volumes have been measured on A roads by Local Authority from 2000 to 2012 and the data is held at:
with the London boroughs at:
The data is based on “Annual Average Daily Flows” (AADF) of different types of vehicles along routes (eg the A3). The spreadsheet with all of the Southwark data is below (with a few extra columns added over and above the raw data from the DfT). This is summarised in the worksheet Output but if you would like to analyse the info, that can be done in the worksheet Analysis and the raw data appears in the worksheet Data. The main thing to say is that the routes are made up of a number of sections (eg A215 comprises the Walworth Rd, Camberwell Rd, Denmark Hill and Herne Hill) and in the raw data each of the component links can be looked at separately. The main thing to arise from the data is the sharp declines in average volumes of almost a third across all main roads in Southwark over this 12 year period.
